My Favorite Baby Care Products - Updated List (2014)

My daughter Uh1h is now 21 months old. How time flies! Fast. Unfortunately. :(

WHAT HAS CHANGED.

We have successfully transitioned her from drinking distilled water to the regular mineral water delivered at our home every other week. She doesn't use sippy cup anymore, she now knows how to drink from a glass. She poops a looot. And I mean a loooot. Maybe because she eats too much? I don't know. She poops 2 to 3 times a day sometimes I wonder if that's normal. And because she downloads too much stinky stuff, baby wipes do not work for her anymore. We clean her bottom like any other adult at home - wash it with soap and water. Soap 3-4 times for best results. You're a mom, you know what I mean, ayt? Since we started washing with soap and water we did not feel the need to use baby rash cream any longer and I will explain why a little later.

Shortly after her first birthday I stopped washing her clothes and started sending it together with my dirty clothing to the laundry shop. I just don't have the time and energy to wash clothes anymore. Before I ventured to this possibility, I did a little research first as to what kind of detergent and fabric softener my favorite laundry shop is using - they use Surf. I used to wash her clothes using the Smartsteps Detergent and I loved it. Good thing her skin did not show any kind of reaction to the change of detergent.

PRODUCTS I STILL LALALA-LOVE FOR HER.

The Avent feeding bottle is such a great deal. Note that we did not invest on a pricey steamer. We wash her bottles with my ever trusted Tiny Buds Baby Bottle and Utensil Wash (see new 600mL packaging below) and sterilize it the conventional way - submerging the bottles in a pot of boiling water for a minimum of 5 minutes.

I just wish I invested on Honey Tint rather than on Natural line of Avent. Click here to see why. And yes, we are still using and loving Tiny Buds products. Bought this bottle and utensil wash at Rustans for less than 300 pesos - cheap isn't it? And you know it's safe.

Still on the list is our favorite Sansflu toothpaste in strawberry flavor. She is on her second tube and I must say it has been effective in keeping my daughter's teeth pearly white!

Another winning brand on the list (still) is Drypers diapers! I just can't believe how it can hold so much pee and how soft it is. There were days when she doesn't poop, and I noticed that we only change nappies after bath time and after dinner or before going to bed. It'll sag, but definitely does not leak! My second brand of choice is Huggies - drypants, red then blue (in that order).

NEW PRODUCTS WE LOVE.

I noticed more Drypers products in the market which is really great! I have tried Drypers Body Wash in a sample bottle before but find it very hard to look for one in the mall. I even sent an e-mail to the Drypers team asking where I can buy their wet wipes and body wash. To my surprise, I found all these during one of my grocery trips to the supermarket!

I got this 200ml bottle for 99 pesos. I love it! I love the smell and the scent stays exceptionally long. My second brand of choice is the Human Heart Nature Body Wash which is a lot cheaper compared to Drypers yet I wish the scent of the former could last longer.

We stopped using Nivea and fell in love with Human Heart Nature's Body Lotion since she was 5 months old. I love the natural scent which is exactly the same as that of their body wash. I also love that it's water-based so it's not sticky at all. And again, you know it's safe! One great thing I noticed about this lotion is that whenever my daughter's bottom starts showing signs of rash, all I need to do is wash thoroughly with soap and water. Once dry, apply a generous amount of human heart nature's lotion and the next day, it's gone! That is the reason why I stopped using Mustela Vitamin Barrier Cream for her bottom even though she barely consumed half of the 50ml tube.

So there you have it folks! One thing I realized is that their needs change! You may get rid of distilled water, baby detergent, other pricey baby products, vaccines, but you never graduate from the desire of giving nothing but the best to your child.

Diapers should be changed every 4 hours (and that is the maximum tome limit already) whether full or not to prevent uti.
