My Top Five Must-Try Restaurants in Cebu

My officemate and his wife are going on a 24-hour weekend getaway to Cebu next week without an itinerary or any sort of a plan for that matter. It was originally a five-day vacation trip that has to be cut short due to work schedule. And since they barely have a day to experience Cebu, they said they would most probably just eat there and buy pasalubongs. I just can't help but feel so giddy about sharing the places I've been to in Sugbu which inspired me to write this post. You know, sometimes its easier to say "just read my blog". Haha! So here is my top five list of must-try restaurants in Cebu:

The boneless zubuchon is a perfect match to their signature Kamias shake! You can have the boneless zubuchon with rice meal at Php120.00 and Kamias shake for Php90.00. In India, kamias is considered as an anti-fat fruit so you can enjoy their lechon without the guilt! I also like their Mongo Zubuchon and Dinuguan!

If you are travelling from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, you may ride a jeepney outside the aiport (near International Departure area) and tell the driver to drop you off at the famous Zubuchon (land mark is Islands Stay Hotel). It's about two or three kilometers away from the airport so hiring a cab is not really practical. Fare is Php8.00.

Lechon Belly is located in Parkmall complex in Mandaue City. It's about 15-30 minutes away from Mactan-Cebu International airport and taking a metered taxi from there costs Php130.00-140.00 depending on the traffic.

At some point my husband and I got really addicted to their Spicy Lechon Belly. Our addiction lasted for about a month and yes, you can see us devouring their spicy lechon with our bare hands almost everyday for a month.

A 1/4 kg serving is good for two persons. One puso (hanging rice) is never enough for me so I would suggest ordering two or three puso per person in advance since the queue for placing orders is very long especially around 11AM to 1PM and 5PM to 7PM.

Ahhhh! Brian's Ribs! My husband fell in love with their huge, flavorful and affordable ribs! I can barely finish one order! This is where he first took me when I arrived in Cebu. They have three branches to date - one in Ramos Branch located at #69 Lim Tian Teng St, Cebu City; another one in IT Park Branch at The Walk , Asiatown IT Park, Cebu City; and in The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City. Check out Casa Verde's Menu here.

One word: awesome! Awesome food. Awesome customer service! Awesome place! The ambiance is very relaxing and you sure can make your friends envious with their instagram-worthy set up. They serve really good food, too! I highly recommend their baked scallops and grilled chicken.

I would also suggest calling Lantaw first and reserve a seat before hitting the road because I'm telling you, this place never runs out of hungry people! You can reach them at 032-514-2959 / 09236522270 / 09998502707 / 09273151695. Lantaw Restaurant is located at Day-as, Cordova in Mactan.

(5) Laguna Garden Cafe

They serve authentic Filipino cuisine like no other! This place is a bit pricey but is totally worth it! Try their tuna kinilaw and sinigang na hipon! I also like their baked scallops, too!

Laguna Garden Cafe is located at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

So there yah go! I'd love to make another post about must-visit places in Cebu as well but too tired to write it today. I hope you guys find this helpful and enjoy your experience in Cebu too! :)
